If you are a sexual abuse survivor, you have survived a terrible ordeal and are perhaps looking for some understanding and some peace of mind. I do not have all the answers, but I am a sexual abuse survivor and I can identify with the feelings you are experiencing. I have finally found peace of mind and I would like to share with you some thoughts on how to overcome this unimaginable pain. Do you know why you're a survivor? Some may call it fate, survival of the fittest, mental or emotional fortitude, or divine intervention.
Others work directly with a therapist or counselor, and many do a combination of both. One thing that can be an excellent therapeutic supplement to whatever road chosen is finding solace in reading. Depending on your taste, a self-help book could be the right thing for you, but for others, healing poetry or memoirs might be easier to connect with. Whatever you choose, there are many books that can help you find peace after experiencing assault.
'Like a spider that keeps building its web': family of sexual abuse survivor speaks out

I am a product of incest. My grandfather sexually abused my mother—his daughter—for years, eventually getting her pregnant, and I am the result. He's my grandfather and my father; his other seven children are my aunts and uncles, and my brothers and sisters.
